100 Word Challenge – Week 59.2: Whoops

“Oh, you’re in trouble this time Hobbie!” Wes said though his exasperation.

“Me?! You’re the one who said it would stay put! Didn’t he Tycho?” he countered.

“Oh no, don’t you drag me into this. I just wanted to snap a quick holo-image! You two clowns lost it!” added the third man, staring down into the maw of stone.

“Well, least we got that. Now what are we gonna tell the boss about,” Wes started, before he was interrupted by his stomach plummeting into his boots.

“About what?” Wedge asked dutifully.

Tycho replied “About how Wes is buying you a new landspeeder.”

And entry #2 for this week’s 100 Word Challenge from Julia’s Place. Because friends are awesome, even if they do break stuff every now and then.

I hope you all enjoy!

  1. Funny! You just can’t trust these gadgets, can you??

  2. Mayumi-H says:

I like when you delve into the Rogues’ world; they’re such characters, especially Wes and Hobbie (or maybe just how you write them). A fun little bit of mischief to counter your other piece this week, which maybe is why you tend to do multiples…?

I don’t mean to sound so critical all the time, but do remember to use the comma when your characters are addressing someone by name. (E.g., “Oh, you’re in trouble this time[,] Hobbie!” and “Didn’t he[,] Tycho?”) It’s a very minor thing, but it makes a good piece rise into a better one.

Now, I wonder how the lads are going to replace that speeder…! 🙂

  3. I’m glad to know that I can give these wonderful Rogues life, and hopefully even doing so faithfully to their original personas. And yes, I had to offset this week’s other post somehow, and these guys were first to hit the brainpan.
And I always welcome your pointers and corrections, as they will help me improve. 🙂
    Thanks again, Mayumi!
