Five Sentence Fiction – Part 3: Devotion to Pride

He remembered a time in his life where his world made sense, and that sense showed how cruel and corrupt their world was. How the powers that were had taken extravagant time and effort dissecting, bisecting and cutting their citizens into neat little sects to oppress and tinker with as playthings.

But to him and others came a champion, a leader, and a shining example of pride in one’s abilities and fearless conviction.

“Soundwave, destroy those Autobot fools!”

To which he would give but one answer, “As you command, Lord Megatron.”

And entry #3 for this week’s Five Sentence Fiction from Lillie McFerrin. Yes, the source material is probably obvious, but this was the first one I wrote, oddly enough. So why not share?

I hope you all enjoy!

This one is unique, I must say!

I’ve always wondered how the Ds viewed the As in their own world. Very few individuals consciously decide to be villains, after all. And dissidents often champion “new” orders: perhaps one of chaos, to start, but many times one that allows for more freedom, too. Of course, Megatron would want to claim the throne vacated in the chaos, but that’s a different story. 🙂

    Nice!

    • Very true. And the newest Transformers series drives this home, with Megatron being more of a champion of the downtrodden at first than simply a tyrant.
And then there’s Soundwave. Ever loyal, very strong, and seemingly doing all the work. One wonder how long the Ds would have lasted without him.
      Glad you liked it Mayumi!

  3. Devotion to the cause, essential if change is to occur.
