100 Word Challenge – Week 61.1: Five More Minutes

I knew it was going to be a bad day when even the radio was against me. I should’ve taken the hint when I woke with another headache and just called in sick, but there is simply too much work to do.

But then a warm arm snaked over me, becoming my own snooze delay. It held me down among the blankets, soon met by radiating warmth along my spine and a purr that stirs my bones.

“Morning already…?” She murmured, still somewhere between gleeful dreams and coherence.

I spun around, dull pain be dammed, to kiss her nose and lips “Five more minutes, beloved.”

Entry #1 for this week’s 100 Word Challenge from Julia’s Place. Not to mention the single greatest cure for any morning ache.

I hope you all enjoy!

The best remedy for a headache is a bit of love making. It doesn’t actually cure the headache, you just don’t seem to care as much! Beautifully told story to which I relate!

  7. Sounds like the day will start well, headache or not! 😉

I agree with Middle-aged Matron – this one just makes me want to climb back into bed. Though, my mate’s usually the one prompting for a snooze!
